NASA Lucy Badges

The NASA Lucy mission is a groundbreaking journey to explore the Trojan asteroids—ancient remnants from the early solar system that orbit near Jupiter. As the first mission of its kind, Lucy aims to uncover clues about planetary formation and the origins of our cosmic neighborhood by visiting multiple asteroids over a 12-year trajectory.

During my time as a public outreach intern at the Southwest Research Institute, I designed a series of commemorative badges for the Lucy mission. Drawing from the mission’s scientific goals and mythological namesake, I developed visuals that celebrate exploration, discovery, and the enduring spirit of curiosity—creating designs that resonate with both internal teams and the public at large.

4150 Starr Poster

While serving as a public outreach intern at the Southwest Research Institute, I was commissioned by the principal investigator of NASA’s Lucy mission to design a commemorative poster celebrating Asteroid (4150) Starr, named in honor of legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. The naming recognizes Starr’s cultural influence and the shared spirit of exploration that links music and the cosmos.

As the designer, I created a poster styled after a vintage star chart—blending astronomical precision with classic celestial aesthetics. The result is a timeless tribute that situates Starr among the stars, visually echoing the mission’s scientific goals and its celebration of human creativity.
